The Stallbacka Islands - Introduction course and guided tour

If someone mentions Trollhättan's history, most people will think of Nohab, Saab, the water locks or Olidan's power station. But the fact is that our history stretches much further back in time than that. Come with us to our city's forgotten cradle, the lush Stallbacka Islands! Long before the Egyptian pharaohs built the first pyramids, the first inhabitants of Trollhäte settled here to make a living by hunting and fishing. Since then, the river, the falls and the islands have been an area filled with stories and legends. From the well-known Beowulf poem to the establishment and fall of the Kalmar Union. Together, we get to know Ekholm Castle, which was one of the last outposts in the ravaged Sweden of the Folkunga dynasty, and the "Pantless King" who would rise from a chaos of war and black death to form a new Scandinavian kingdom.

Our kayaks are safe and stable, even complete beginners can join us on our tours. During the introductory course, we go over basic safety and paddling techniques before launching the kayaks. We then continue to hone our paddling technique throughout the trip. Each participant is awarded a white paddle pass (European Paddle Pass) as proof of completed introduction.
Duration of the tour: 4 - 4.5 hours including briefing on land and lunch stop on one of the islands.
